Resource Interactive is looking for Creative Interns for Fall 2008. We
are looking for a Design Intern and a Content Intern. Internships will
be paid ($14/hour).

Specific Majors Preferred: Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design

Brief Description of Intern's Responsibility:
1.) Intern, Design
PRACTICE + STUDIO DESIGN RESPONSIBILITES:
*Production and design execution for websites, banner ads,prototypes and client presentations under the supervision of Designersand/or Senior Designers
*Precise graphic design execution and continuing growth in creative concept development and exploration
*Willing to take direction and learn new software skills
*Must be team-oriented, dedicated, inquisitive, self-motivated and collaborative

2.) Intern, Content
PRACTICE + STUDIO CONTENT RESPONSIBILITES:
*Support Content Editors and Senior Content Editors in info-gathering
*Responsible for being resourceful and assistin in the creaion of and editing content
*Strategic thinker with strong information management, written and oral communication skills
*Help translate the strategy into creative, how to work with individual designers, and how best to prepare and maintain copy for development purposes
*Seek out best practices
*Read and contribute to RI Creative Blog

Both interns may also be asked to help with:
MARKETING + BIZ DEV DESIGN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Print work:
*Capabilities + speaking presentations in .ppt
*Marketing kit materials, print design + production
*Create charts, graphs for .ppt presentations
*Design and produce internal signage, photos, business cards, party stuff
*Order art supplies w/preferred vendors + maintain mock-up area
*New associate on-boarding binders
Web work:
*Update Resource.com graphics
*Update awards extranet sites
*The Limelight Email newsletter
*Back fill production design duties in studios as needed

Cartoon Library Looking for Digital imaging Assistant

Digital Imaging Student Assistant for Trademark & Licensing Services
(employment located at the Cartoon Research Library, 023L Wexner Center, 27 W. 17th Avenue Mall)

Job Responsibilities
•Digital imaging using the BetterLight scanning back, a sophisticated combination of a large format camera and digital scanning device, and flatbed scanner
•Scans images from the Cartoon Research Library’s collections for Trademark & Licensing Services
•Uploads images and metadata to the Treasury of Fine Art Database
•Works in conjunction with the Cartoon Research Library’s Digital Imaging Assistant to organize and maintain the archival digital image library
•Adheres to archival standards in handling artwork

Requirements
•Experience in Photoshop CS
•Experience with image scanning and imaging software preferred
•Reliable in attending work as scheduled
•Self-motivated and able to work independently
•Attention to detail

Work Hours
•Minimum 10 hours/wk; maximum 20 hours/wk
•Flexible between 9:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday; no weekends or evenings

Pay range
•$ 10.00 per hour

The public opening of Agora 2008 will be held on Saturday, April 19, with an exclusive preview event on Friday, April 18.

We live in Northmoor area of Clintonville, about 2 miles north of the OSU Dept of Art. My wife is a painter of some repute: Butler Museum, artist-in-residence grants, etc. She is also a Luddite when it comes to arts and tech. Mostly she is still using a Nikon F & slides. We r looking for someone who is proficient in Adobe Photoshop to tutor her in how to get images of her paintings from digital camera to JPEGS for presentation to galleries shows etc.

The Undergraduate Juried Exhibition

The Annual Undergraduate Juried Exhibition will be accepting applications and art work on Thursday March 26, 9am-5pm. The application FORM AND GUIDELINES will be posted on the DEPARTMENT OF ART blog. Please bring the filled-out application with you when you drop-off your work. YOU MAY SUBMIT UP TO THREE WORKS. The cost for each submission is $5, or 3 pieces for $12. We will accept a maximum of 3 pieces. THE SUBMISSION MONEY WILL BE USED FOR JURORS AWARDS AND given out at the opening reception on April 1st. There will also be several departmental scholarships given out during that time. I will send out an email once the application has been uploaded to the blog. Art display at the Blues Restaurant

I'm the manager at Blues Restaurant, located on High Street directly across from the Ohio Union (hole in the ground). We are really looking for ways to enhance the front of our property. We have two large windows that face High and we are hoping to find some local artists who might be interested in displaying their artwork in these windows for all to see. We are looking for students who could submit a sketch of what "The Blues" means to them since this would go along with the theme of our restaurant. We would then choose a couple winners who could recreate their work on a 4' by 4' or 4' by 8' surface. It would be a great way for an artist to expose their work to a lot of people and it would really make an attention grabber for the front of our store.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions of how we can pull this off. If you would like to stop by the restaurant, I'd be happy to buy you lunch and we could talk about it.

Project Green call for proposals

After years of devoted work on behalf of the Worthington Arts Council countless committees, community volunteers, and art patrons, the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center will finally come to fruition when ground is broken in late spring of 2008. A visual art installation, celebrating the “spirit of groundbreaking,” will be publicly exhibited on the grounds directly in front of the McConnell Arts Center building.
