Opportunity for aspiring photographers

We are reaching out to local photography colleges and art departments to provide a paid position for students interested in product photography during the summer and perhaps after. We are hoping that you will forward this information to prospective students or graduates in order to further their education and build their portfolio. The majority of this position will be photography of products such as bedding, bath, and décor. The individual will be able to work with brands such as: Nautica, Amy Butler, Christy of London, and more.

The individual will perform all tasks related to styling, photography, and finishing of pictures for www.DesignerLinensOutlet.com , www.BeddingStore.com , designer micro-sites , and marketing material.

The position will have access to our studio and associated graphic workstations for product photography touch-up and optimization using Adobe Photoshop CS4 and its associated creative suite of products (CS4). Pay range for this position is $10-12/hr. The individual hired will be expected to work 24-36 hours a week at our location and studio located off of Stringtown Rd in Grove City, OH; a 5-10 minute drive from downtown Columbus area.

Tasks:

1. Styling

a. Ironing, steaming, and preparation of product for photography.

b. Layout and styling of product on beds, curtain rods, etc.

c. Physical movement of product to/from photography area.

2. Photography

a. Lighting, flash, speed, and aperture control for consistent photographs.

b. Close-up photos of stitching and color detail.

c. Maintain appropriate spatial proportions.

3. Finishing

a. Clean up and finish digital photos using Adobe Photoshop.

b. In-lay close-ups, logos, etc. as needed.

c. Follow guidelines for appropriate image size and quality.

4. Creative

a. Assist in creative promotional photography for the marketing and creative staff.
