The top 3 winners will have their work represented at the world-renown Art Basel Miami Beach art show by the Aqua Art Miami Art Fair December 3-6, 2009 . A total of 50 MyArtspace artists have their work digitally on display as well. The deadline for submission is Sunday November 15, 2009.

Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) October 6, 2009 -- MyArtspace.com, the premier online venue for contemporary art has launched an exciting new juried competition for its community - Miami 2009. The top 3 winners will have their work flown to Miami and represented at the Aqua Art Miami Art Fair during the week of Art Basel Miami, December 3-7, 2009. Additionally, the top 50 finalists will have their work digitally shown at the exhibit. The deadline for contest registration and submission of work is Sunday November 15, 2009.

To enter the competition, artists must be a new or existing member of MyArtspace. Membership is free, and members can upload an unlimited amount of fine art, music, video and audio narration and create a highly contemporary art viewing experience. Registration for the Miami 2009 competition is $25, but free for members with a premium MyArtspace subscription. The winners will be announced on Friday November 27, 2009. The Aqua Art Miami Art Fair will be held December 3-6, 2009.

The Miami 2009 competition will be juried by a prestigious panel of art critics and curators. This jury panel will be announced separately on October 15th, 2009.

Raj Michael is looking for an art student who would be interested in helping him develop a new cartoon strip. He has conceptualized all the text, but would like to find and artist to draw the cartoon strips.
Once the the images and text come together he will market the cartoon strips to papers and magazines and the artist will get 50% of the profits.

There is no income initially, but payment is made when the cartoon is sold.

Call for Artwork for Benefit Auction

I am organizing a fundraiser for the making of a documentary about Aaron Hibbs attempt to break the world hula hooping record. This attempt will take place on October 22nd, and the documentary, which is already underway, will document the entire process, all 120 hours of hooping. The fundraiser will take place on October 9th, and will consist of a silent auction, dinner, and dancing. The dinner and auction will begin at 6pm and the dancing will commence at 9pm. It will be $10 for the whole night and $5 for just the dancing portion. The event will be catered by a local business TBA.

I am looking for artists to be a part of this amazing inspirational community event by donating a piece of work for the silent auction. Artists can choose to donate 50% of its selling price or more if you'd like!

The deadline is September 27th. Work is due by October 3rd.

Kettering, September 17, 2009- Help shelter pets by creating a poster

that encourages people to adopt their pets from animal shelters.

Rosewood Arts Centre and SICSA (The Society for the Improvement of

Conditions of Stray Animals) have teamed up to help spread the word that

shelter pets make great pets. The artwork can feature any pets(s) and

can be made out of any material other than digital or photo. The

artwork must be 11”x17” (vertical or horizontal). The poster

contest for artists in 5th-8th grades runs now until Monday October 5th.

Winners will be notified on October 12th.

The winning posters will be on display at Rosewood Arts Centre then

relocate to SICSA for display and auction at the Red Dog Auction (2010)

to help raise money for SICSA programs. The winning work will not be

returned. The juror is Amy Kollar Anderson, Artist and Gallery

Coordinator for the Rosewood Gallery. Winners receive gift certificates

from The Greene, Buffalo Wild Wings, Milanos and Rosewood Arts Centre

and receive a SICSA t-shirt and tote filled with goodies.
